20/20/20

20/20/20, hindsight is twenty twenty. 2020 has been an interesting year for all of us. Perhaps it has been a time for us to pull back and asses ourselves and reflect on our own fundamentals. COVID-19 has spread across the world. Black Lives Matter has become a global movement.

At times the world seems to be upside down, and yet we are also connected with each other on a level that we have never witnessed before.

Things have changed not only globally but here also at the Kings and Queens of Kibera. In January Javier Mestres, Joan Echevarria and Joan Dicenta, helped build a new housing structure for the Kings and Queens. Javier, being an architect completely redesigned the structure from the bottom up. Joan Dicenta, managed the project, and worked closely with the Kenyan construction team. As we continue and move forward this year, we invite you to become part of our community. We will be using the Patreon platform to communicate and interface with you. For 20$ / 20€ a month you can become one of the first “community members”. With our new platform questions and feedback, and we will give you a monthly video update on events happening at the Kings and Queens of Kibera. Communication and community activity will be our greatest asset. We look forward to working with you, and although 2020 at times seems like a tough year for us globally, we are hopeful that 2020 will bring great changes to all of us.
